Divorce and Separation
Divorce can be a stressful and confusing time. It is important that you seek legal advice at the earliest stage as the early stages of proceedings can affect the eventual outcome. We have years of experience representing the person taking divorce proceedings (The Petitioner) and the person who is served with proceedings (The Respondent). We can assist with drafting proceedings a completing a Form M6 Divorce Acknowledgement.
Divorce proceedings are dealt with in the County Court for Northern Ireland or the High Court for Northern Ireland and are required to be made on 1 of 5 grounds:-
- Two years’ separation (when you are living apart and the other spouse consents to the divorce)
- Five years’ separation (when you are living apart and the other spouse does not give their consent)
- Unreasonable behaviour
- Adultery
- Desertion
We will assist you with every step of the way right up until Divorce Hearing.
